Answer the Distress Signal
Your radio picks up a signal from Lifepod 7, north-east of your position. The signal points to the edge of the Safe Shallows. Before heading out, ensure you have fins, a high-capacity tank, and at least 2 days of food and water.
Enter the Twisty Bridges
Beyond the Safe Shallows lies the Twisty Bridges biome — a network of arching rock formations covered in bioluminescent flora. The water here is deeper (50-100m) and the current is stronger. Watch for Boomerangs and the new Spinnerfish.
Find Lifepod 7
Lifepod 7 is wedged between two rock pillars at approximately 80 meters depth. Scan the wreckage for valuable fragments: BioMod Station and Advanced Wiring Kit. The surroundings contain several data boxes with lore entries.
Discover BioMod
After scanning the BioMod Station fragment, you can craft it at your base (requires: Titanium x3, Copper x2, Computer Chip x1). The BioMod station lets you craft gene modifications. Your first priority: the Digestion Gene — scan the large glowing flora in Twisty Bridges to unlock it.
The Digestion Gene is a game-changer. Once equipped, raw fish provides 50% more nutrition — dramatically reducing how often you need to return to base for food.
Alien Data Terminal
Your radio picks up a signal from an unknown source. Follow it to an Alien Data Terminal in the depths of Twisty Bridges (coordinates: -320, -45, 200). Interact with it to receive story-critical information and a new location marker.
Return and Prepare
Return to your base and debrief. You now have access to the BioMod system and know your next destination: the Purple Vents. Upgrade your oxygen capacity and craft a Seaglide if you have the blueprint — it will be essential for the deeper exploration ahead.
