Subnautica 2 Resource Guide

🟫 Titanium

Difficulty: Easy

The most fundamental resource in Subnautica 2. Found everywhere in the Shallows.

Where to find:

• Scattered on the seafloor (just pick up)
• Metal Plates — dismantle for 4 Titanium each (always pick these up)
• Cave floors in early caves near Lifepod

Uses: Base building, tools, vehicle upgrades

🟠 Copper

Difficulty: Easy

Common in cave walls and overhangs. Essential for batteries and wiring.

Where to find:

• Cave walls and ceilings (look up!)
• Use Survival Knife or Multitool to harvest
• Found in Shallows Caves near Lifepod

Uses: Copper Wire, Basic Battery, tool recipes

⚪ Quartz

Difficulty: Easy

Abundant in specific coral formations. Key for glass and advanced building.

Where to find:

• Inside orange spherical coral balls — these always contain large amounts
• Scattered on ground (less common)
• Giant coral ball area (bearing 240° NW of Lifepod) — lots inside

Uses: Glass, strong glass, advanced recipes

🟢 Cave Resources

Difficulty: Low

The cave near your Lifepod is a one-stop shop for early resources.

Enter the cave right below the Lifepod — it has:

• Oxygen bubbles (no need to surface)
• Titanium deposits
• Copper on walls and ceiling
• Acid Mushroom (for Medical Gel)
• Fiber from cave vegetation

Pro tip: This cave is perfect for your first supply run — everything you need for basic tools.

🌟 Silver 50-150m

Difficulty: Low-Medium

Essential for advanced electronics. Found in caves northeast of Angel Comb.

Best route from Lifepod:

1. Swim north from Lifepod
2. Find the Angel Comb landmark (large white spire coral)
3. Enter the cave system northeast of Angel Comb
4. Look for gray shale with silver specks
5. Depth: 50-150m (easy with starting oxygen)

What you'll find:

• Silver Ore (medium amount)
• Copper Ore (lots)
• Small amounts of Titanium

Tips: No dangerous creatures in this cave. Safe to farm repeatedly.

⬛ Lead ~60m

Difficulty: Low

Used for Sugar of Saturn food ingredient. Can be tricky to find — use Angel Comb as your waypoint.

Best route:

1. Swim to Angel Comb (your key landmark)
2. From Angel Comb, look east for the cave entrance
3. Descend to the flat seafloor below
4. Lead ore looks purple-ish (different from Titanium!)

Alternative location: NE from Lifepod at bearing 65-75°, about 150-200m. Look for a canyon with strong current.

Tips:

• Small lead chunks can be picked up by hand
• Large lead deposits need Sonic Resonator
• You need Lead to make Sonic Resonator — collect small chunks first

🗿 Gold

Difficulty: Hard

⚠️ Requires Heat Tolerance gene and deep diving equipment!

Prerequisites:

• Unlock Heat Tolerance at Angel Comb (see Heat Zone section)
• Sonic Resonator (to break large deposits)
• High Capacity Air Tank
• Tadpole with Depth Module MK2

Best gold spot:

Spider-shaped lava coral — located directly above the Cicada Wreck in the lava zone. One coral can yield 40+ Gold.

How to get there:

1. From Lifepod, go SE (bearing ~120°) about 250m
2. Enter the lava zone (water turns yellow, temperature warning appears)
3. Descend to ~200m and find the first trench
4. Enter the small opening on the right at the fork
5. Follow to the spider lava coral above Cicada Wreck

Uses: Thermal Generator, Advanced Wiring Kit, crafting endgame items

💛 Sulfur ~60m (hot zone)

Difficulty: Hard

⚠️ Requires Heat Tolerance

Best location: S-SE of Lifepod at bearing ~120°, about 250m. Near Chap's Blackbox.

What you'll find:

• 4 large sulfur deposits (need Sonic Resonator)
• 3 medium deposits
• Scattered small pieces
• Total: ~24 Sulfur per run

Nearby features: Large coral crabs, an artificial platform

Uses: Strong Acid, Advanced Wiring Kit

🔑 Volcano Key (剧情道具)

How to get:

1. From Hollow Column landmark, head SE (bearing 120°)
2. Enter the hot zone (water turns yellow)
3. Descend to ~200m and find the first trench
4. Take the right path at the fork
5. Look for white shell structures — there's a small opening
6. Swim through the narrow passage (only for swimming, not vehicles)
7. Find Zip's Blackbox — the Volcano Key is automatically obtained when picking up the voice log
